  1. David T. Rainwater

This item has been wonderful so far.I am running windows 10 and was able to simply plug the device in with 1 USB port and allow the drivers to automatically be downloaded and it worked like a charm.I was surprised to note that despite the description saying usb 3.0 is required I was able to get it to work with usb 2.0 on a laptop which had no usb 3.0 ports.I have seen other reviews complaining about the usb cable provided with this item but for me it seems sturdy enough…I am not sure what others are doing with this thing to break it.The screen is brighter than I expected, given the limited power from the USB port.Though, it is important to note that the default brightness is 50% so you can turn it up higher once you get it working. One other thing I really like is that once you adjust the brightness or the contrast those settings are carried over if you hook it up to another computer. Also be aware there are no buttons on this item at all.It is turned on and off by simply plugging it in or unplugging it.If I had one suggestion to improve the item, based on my experience thus far, I would say it would be to have a cable which could be stored in the cavity of the folding leg/stand.Perhaps a retractable cable would work for this purpose. This item also came with a soft case which fits the unit very well.Based on other reviews I have cut out a section of soft cardboard in the shape of the screen to protect the display, given that the provided case is soft. For the money this item fits the bill perfectly for me:-Portable-Storable-Easy to use and connect-One cable operation-not $200+I would recommend this item to a friend or colleague despite the other reviews; most of which seem to be from non-technical type people or people who apparently yank a cable out of the socket at a 90-degree angle.

I am happy with my purchase. I have a MacBook Air, M1 chip and it worked fine. You will have to download DisplayLink software, just google it. Setup was super quick maybe 5-10 minutes. I will say the picture quality is not to good, maybe cause it’s coming from a Mac, not to sure, but I also have not tried playing with any possible setting, so that part might be fixable! Would definitely recommend if someone needs 2nd screen!

This is the second unit. 1st one was for my daughter as we hit COVID. Then I purchased one for my home office to stick in the back of a gaming monitor that kids uses in the office. That avoided cluttering the space. Now I am planning to gift one to my niece. All is all great value for money. It comes with the USB cable.Purchased 3 more since the initial review.

The product works great1) cable – it came with a 3ft and needed 6ft minimum. Save yourself returning cables that don’t work, calling AOC and use the following cable:TIEGEM USB Type C 3.1 Gen 2 Cable USB C to USB-C Cable. (Gen2 is required)https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F36KZCD2) My usage: Client presentations . The client has their own view at a comfortable distance. No more crowding around one screen.3) Size: perfect, as it is large enough for easy viewing and fits in my existing e-bag laptop backpack.4) Magnetic monitor stand doubles a screen protector and can place the monitor in portrait or landscape.5) 90 degree adapters can help with cable strain.6) Battery life. I have a thin and light laptop that still had 25% life after 4hrs. Definitely portable. With recommendations from other reviews, I purchased a protection plan.Cons: None I’ve found.

I was looking for a good monitor to travel with so that I can extend my screen and work more efficiently while on the road. It needed to be big enough to be effective, light and thin enough to fit easily in my backpack with my laptop, and have high enough resolution so that I get plenty of lines of email in my inbox or stats on a spreadsheet. This one does the trick on all counts. Plus it only has the one USB-C cord so no extra power pack or cord to carry other than the small one. It works great for the hotel or anywhere else, and is very effective when working with a partner who also needs to see the screen. The thin cover/stand is simple but effective – takes a little getting used to, but is more flexible for various stand positions and thinner than other ones I’ve seen. I definitely recommend this monitor for travelers.

  6. Steve-o-maticSteve-o-matic

I purchased this to use with a Razor Blade 15 laptop. Its primary purpose is for programming and amateur radio control, which for me requires dual monitors. I do game with the laptop on occasion, but did not purchase this monitor for that purpose. It can’t compete with the laptop display by any means, but setup as a dual monitor to increase project productivity and aid in seamless workflow, works for me. Look for something else if you’re going to use it for gaming.I would not recommend this monitor if color accuracy is essential. Some colors tend to be a bit dull, and reds seem to be slightly on the orange side. Brightness and contrast are acceptable, but I have only used it indoors so I can’t say how it will do outside exposed to mega-glare. I set the Low-Blue Mode to ‘weak’, which adjusts the grayscale closer to match my laptop display.Per specification, it connects to the computer via a USB-C port. The port on the computer must support Display Alternative Mode. I initially installed the provided iMenu utility which allows monitor adjustment from the host computer, but found it to be a bit buggy on my Win 10 laptop. It would hang for unacceptable lengths of time, or completely lockup and/or crash. It also seemed to conflict with the native Windows Display Control Panel. Uninstalling it was no walk in the park either. Using the monitor OSD menu works well enough for me. It’s a one button control feature located on the left side of the monitor. In fact, it’s the only button on the monitor. Odd, but it works. Why I like it.• Lightweight and portable• Full 1080 x 1920 native resolution• Decent display for the money• One cable connection (no wall-wart or separate power connection needed)• Includes a protective cover that functions as an adjustable stand• Matches my laptop

This is good for travel and needing another monitor in a temporary/compact work space.

  8. Timothy R.

I couldn’t be happier with this product. It works great on my Surface Pro 2 and my Dell M6800. I have used it on several business trips to have dual monitors without having to lug around an expensive and heavy monitor. This AOC 16in monitor fits easily into my laptop bag or laptop rolling case, which ever I travel with that day. The kick stand allows a great angle to work at. Since using this for a month or so, I have had at least a half dozen friends purchase one too. No complaints from anyone. I have also had a couple of other friends opt for a more expensive model that gives a higher resolution as the Optimum Resolution for this unit is only 1366 x 768 @60Hz. For me 1366 x 768 is perfect for internet browsing, twitter, email, or even working in the MS Office Suite. For anything that required a super high resolution I would use my primary display. If you use this for what it is for, a travel companion to expand your desktop to, you will love it. For those yanking on it for limited resolution, this isn’t meant to be a primary all the time monitor. For travel, and for the price, you simply can’t beat it.

Works great for working out of your truck.

Just bought the USB-C version and so-far, so-good. It’s light as a feather and about half as thick as my finger. It came with a CD (who has a CD drive on portable devices now?) but wasn’t necessary. I plugged it into my Yoga 900 (running Windows 10), hit the power button and it popped right up without any driver loading. The cover is robust and has magnetic edges so it sticks to the monitor, the bezels as well as the back will stick to it. The cover is firm and bends in certain spots to create not just a cover but the base holding the monitor up.Edit May 12, 2018: I took it on a trip and accidentally left the cable it came with at home but had a USB-C cable from a phone. That cable did not work. On returning home, I did a little research and found that a thunderbolt cable with USB-C style ends does the trick (I bought one as a spare and it works). The research indicated that the thunderbolt cable has a higher bandwidth that a normal USB-C cable does. Thunderbolt costs a bit more but it’s good to know what the spare is if I need it.

Wonderful picture but the max volume is low.

Great value for the price. Plug and play… works like suppose to!

I travel frequently and need to have dual screens. These are definitely durable. I have dropped them a few times and they have not cracked or malfunctioned. I have had them a little over 8 months. I haven’t packed them in my suit case, but I they are easily packed with my laptop in a case. They are lightweight. The exterior is all plastic, but very durable. I would recommend these over any other portable screen. Sometimes they do flicker, but they are not meant to be kept on constantly as a regular desktop screen. Simply unplug them when not using as it don’t have an on/off button. The flicker is minimal and definitely stops after they have been allowed to rest properly. Using 1 screen with the laptop is okay on plane if you have the room but wouldn’t recommend if you have privacy concerns. Definitely great at airport while waiting for flights. Real quick and easy set up. I do recommend being very careful with USB cords. I can see how they could possibly bend the USB connection causing malfunctioning or not working. I have had that problem. I recommend not pull or tugging on the connection when unplugging..be gentle. All in all best money I ever spent.

  14. Don’t believe the hype

I take this on the road with me when I trade with a laptop, otherwise I have them connected to my desktop as additional screens as a trader

Update 11/28/2021: The monitor mysteriously stopped working when my Mac updated to OS Catalina. At first, I thought it was an OS compatibility issue. The problem is the USB C cable. The new OS requires a Thunderbolt 3 cable for the monitor to work. I swapped out the cable with a Thunderbolt 3 cable and we’re back in business! I suspect upgrading the USB C cable will resolve the Windows issue too.—— Previous Review —–I’ve been using this monitor for the past few days. Initial impression: very happy with this monitor.A little background. I’m a software designer working from the road (random AirBNB’s, hotels, public spaces & co-working spaces). My regular work setup consists of a powered standing desk, two 24in external monitors in addition to the 3rd monitor from my 15in MBP. I find that losing the additional monitors significantly lowered my productivity. My requirements for a portable monitor were:1) Portability. I carry a 20L backpack by Peak Design. My whole workstation setup needed to fit in that pack.2) Minimal additional gear. I didn’t want to carry more stuff with me. I already had too much as it.3) Seamless performance. The monitor needed to make my user experience better; not detract from it. In the past, I’ve tried using my iPad Pro as a second monitor. Even with a wired connection, it had too much lag.Pros:1) Portability: It’s very light with a footprint that is slightly larger than my 15in MBP. It fit snugly into the laptop slot of my pack. Barely notice the addition.2) Minimal additional gear: The only cable needed for this monitor is a USB-C cable. Power and video flow through this one cable.3) Ease of setup: For my MBP, it was plug and play. No dongle. No additional software to install. Super simple.4) Excellent design: The cover/stand is ingenious. The cover becomes the stand (one less thing to carry) and attaches to the monitor magnetically producing flexible viewing angle choices.5) Performance: No lag. Good picture (I’m comparing it to the retina screen on MBP). The color reproduction is acceptable. I plan to use it as my secondary monitor.Cons:None yet.Final verdict: I would buy again.

This is the best laptop accessory that I have! I travel for work and bring this everywhere with me. It is plug and play – never had any issues with it … worked straight out of the box as advertised. I love that you are able to turn it to either portrait or landscape without changing any settings – just rotate the screen. It works just like a phone! It also has its own icon in the tray so that the display can be set to extend to left, right, top, bottom, mirror, main display or off without having to go to your DISPLAY settings. I had to set up 2 additional monitors for our home desktop and it was such a pain. I was tempted to buy two more of these screens to use at home. But we already had the other monitors which I still cannot get to display with the resolution that I want.Everywhere I go, people are fascinated by the extra monitor. it is light – great portability! It is sleek looking and it just works! I do agree with one of the other reviews that the cord is very sensitive. If you move it slightly, the connection will disconnect. Other than that, it is everything that I could ask for!

I’ve been using this portable monitor almost daily since I started traveling full-time 5 years ago. It’s still as good as the day I bought it. It’s been handled by dozens of airport security staff (trying to figure out what it is). No problems. I’ve accidentally knocked it to the floor on several occasions. No problems. Definitely not as flimsy as it seems. I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

This is the absolute best $100 I have ever spent in my entire life. I am a PhD student and I only have a laptop. This little gift from heaven is so priceless that I bought a label maker just so I could cover my name, email address and phone number all over it in case it ever gets lost. This plugs directly into your USB from your laptop and volia! It works. No separate power cord or anything! Only 1 CORD! I have a 13″ MacBook Air and it works like a dream. It is lightweight and even came with a foam sleeve for transporting. Working 8 – 12 hours a day on a laptop screen, I find I have to get up and physically relocate to make sure I can stay focused. This second screen is amazing and so transportable that I can go anywhere and use it – I am not restricted to sitting in areas where there are power outlets because this magical screen uses the power from your laptop. I truly don’t notice my laptop battery depleting any faster – but even if it does, it is totally worth it. Highly recommend!

  19. Carroll Little

This is awesome that it is so thin, and the stand doubles as a cover, and allows the modular to be held at multiple angles. I use this as a fourth monitor with my laptop and two other standard 24 inch monitors, and then I use it when I traveling with my laptop by itself. People are always amazing surprise when they see it. Great product, I continue to recommend it to everyone I meet.

  20. M. Ogre

I have had ZERO of the problems that other reviewers have reported. For me it was true plug and play right out of the box. I did not have to load drivers, or anything; just—plug and play. I had zero experience of the “5 millisecond lag” that some people reported. Mouse movement is in precise real time. The picture quality is terrific for my purposes, I can;t see a difference between my laptop screen or this AOC monitor. I have a 6 year old Dell Core i5 with discrete video card, nothing special. Plugged into the one USB 3.0 port, and was up and running in ~two minutes, time it took my computer to load drivers directly from the monitor. I do a lot of search/copy/paste work for my job, searching raw data documents (mostly Word, .pdf, e-mails, and internet sources), and copying and pasting or paraphrasing to my document. This second monitor makes life SO much easier. I LOVE how compact it is—I have a very small work space, and only have room for a small monitor like this. I also love that it is totally USB powered, so I don’t have another power cord cluttering up my work space. The soft cover is fine. It’s nothing fancy, just fine gauge ballistic, but lightly padded to soften jolts, and keeps the screen from getting scratched when packed. It weighs I think 2.4 lbs, which is nothing. The swivel back rest stand is well designed, and I think very effective. I would ordinarily not have bought a brand that I had never heard of before like AOC, but this company really executed their product to my satisfaction. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. I would like to mention that I have not been paid anything for this review, or given anything, nor di I know this company at all. I just like the product, and think other people would like to hear from a completely unbiased customer.

  21. Amazon Customer

Requiring only one cord is magical. I really need to two monitors to do my job, and with this setup, working from anywhere now feels like an extremely accessible reality. It’s no thrills, the monitor isn’t great, but for how cheap and light it is, I don’t think I could ever go back to using just my laptop or dragging around a huge standard monitor.

  22. Jared Anderson

Just received my monitor from Amazon. Hooked it up, installed the software without a hitch. Product worked right out of the box. Adjustments that you would usually find on the monitor itself can be located in your system tray and adjusted via on-screen interface. No fumbling with buttons. Hooray! The monitor auto rotates just fine.It takes up two USB ports. It probably stated that somewhere but I didn’t see it before I purchased it. Utilizing a USB hub helps with the intrusion on your USB space. Also, if you use another power hungry device like an external HDD you might find a lack of power for your devices. You could probably use a powered USB hub but then you’re using a lot of power outlets and your mobile setup isn’t quite as convenient (or easy to set up) as before.A word about image quality and brightness: I am using this with an Acer Aspire 5742 which has the same size screen as the AOC. My laptop is a LED backlit display. I’m not sure how they did it but I swear the AOC is just as bright. Also, the color tone matches my laptop’s display perfectly. Not sure if that will be the same for everyone. I’m pretty happy though. One more thing, if you were thinking about possibly using this for gaming, think again. There is an almost imperceptible delay in the input/output. Although to a gamer, it would be very noticeable. Knowing that this was designed for office work I would say it matters not. It is so slight you forget that the delay exists after a while. Thanks AOC.

I was a little skeptical buying this after comparing it to other pricier models and reading some reviews, but I’ve been really happy with this screen. It’s not as flimsy as some mentioned – maybe they were tough with it? I’m not overly gently but I’m careful enough with it, as I am with my laptop. The picture is better than expected.I like both landscape and portrait mode, depending on what I’m working on. I love that it only needs the usb cord to power and play. Incredibly handy so I can setup quicker and less junk all over my temporary work space at a clients or visiting other offices.I use this at home so I can have four screens running instead of three. Overkill, yes. But I love it. I can use it to keep notes open or store my work specific messenger there so I don’t have to keep dropping it down. It’s also light enough to carry in my work backpack (SwissArmy laptop bag – specific for work/laptops) without really noticing it’s there. Size is perfect for storing in my bag and matches my laptop. Much bigger and I feel it would fit in my normal bag and I’d need another bag just to carry it.The sleeve is nice but is really just to protect the screen from getting scratched in your bag. Don’t expect to be able to drop the screen in the “pouch” and it’ll be fine. It’s just a thin sleeve, but I do use it so my notepads don’t scratch it in my bag.

  24. Suzanne

Purchased two of these to help with remote working, on the road, when away from my home office. They’re fantastic additions to a laptop screen and are larger than most laptop screens I’ve seen. Thin enough to carry easily in a backpack or carry on, and aluminum frame is nice and seems sturdy despite the thinness. These things have travelled hundreds of miles with me the last 12 months. Great for business, not for gaming obviously. Brightness is alright but could be better at times. Overall 5 our of 5 stars, and a great improvement upon the thicker, plastic shelled AOC USB-3.0 portable monitor (which I also loved, albeit less so). Don’t forget to download the drivers you need from either the AOC or DisplayLink website. I recommend checking DisplayLink first.

  25. David Plante

I’ve been looking for a relatively inexpensive and small 3rd monitor for my desk, primarily to keep my various chat apps open while I use my main screen for web-based and office applications, and my other external screen for email. This monitor is PERFECT for my needs! I use the portrait orientation so it looks like a big tablet. Setup was very easy, just plugged it into my Dell Latitude 5491 work computer’s USB-C port and it blinked to life. It is especially nice because my HDMI port was already being taken up by my other external monitor. One quirk with mine is that my computer changed the audio output source to this new monitor when I first plugged it in, but it doesn’t have speakers. Just clicked the speaker icon on the start menu and I was able to easily change it back. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase 🙂

  26. Guy M. Hoovler

Update – I’ve had this monitor for a week now and I’m still very impressed. Worked out of the box with my Mac Air, on my Windows laptop at work the provided drivers caused some issues with Outlook 16. I needed to install the latest Intel chipset drivers for USB support and then I was able to install the most recent DisplayLink drivers, and after that it works great on both laptops. The DisplayLink drivers also remember the display configuration – when I’m at my desk using the AOC as a 3rd monitor, I have it in landscape mode, and when I’m undocked and using the built-in display, it remembers that I like to use the monitor rotated 270degrees so I can use it in portrait mode – very clever. Zero issues at all moving it between configs and taking it home to use with my Mac.My first reaction – Wow! Yes, it has a little latency, and yes, off-angle viewing isn’t great, but what a bright and crisp portable monitor! I’m writing this review on it in portrait mode – the kickstand supports the monitor in both orientations – and it has enough brightness and contrast out of the box to allow my aging eyes to read well in the native 1080p resolution. I was worried by a few of the more negative reviews, but I have to say – for the price, this thing is great!

  27. Joeletta

I read the reviews before purchasing and I was on the fence. But for the price point, I figured I could try it. I haven’t had any issues with the screen and I really do love it and its super useful and light. I travel for work and I’m currently a doctoral student, so I needed the extra screen space to do school while traveling. I’ve gone through airport security with it and had no issue. The only thing I’ve found is that other than my personal computer it didn’t seem to work with my work computers. There are many reasons that could be, but it was something I noticed. But I didn’t need it for work, so no biggy. My personal computer is a PC. I love the fact there is only one cord. No additional cord for power. The screen brightness is perfect and its very clear. I’m very satisfied and hopefully if someone is on the fence that can cross over to satisfaction. Oh and I do love the case that comes with it. That helps to protect it.

I read the reviews and some people had issues, others didn’t, so I thought I’d give it a try via Amazon, knowing I could return it. First thing to remember….. USB-C. It explains compatibility and my Dell work laptop has this connection hub. From the box, I connected the included 2 ended USB-C cable to the portable screen and the other end to the laptop. You can probably tell by my description that I am not technically skilled 🙂. Then I powered on the screen…. And there it was! Mirror image of my laptop. Quick screen setting to have dual screens, and I was in business.I didn’t have to do anything with the included driver installation disc. The magnetic screen protector is a perfect, uncomplicated stand that doubles as a screen protector.I shared with 2 colleagues so they can buy one too.Normally I work with 3 screens for my work at home set up, but as I take care of my 90 year old grandmother who has dementia on Fridays, I can now sit out in the living room area with her and manage on 2 screens.Super happy with this purchase…. Had to share.

  29. bac

I needed a usb-c monitor as a second screen while working at home. This worked perfectly. I tried not to laugh when I saw a cd with drivers and such in the box. My Macbook Pro had display adapter drivers added already because at work I use a docking station. I didn’t need more stuff cluttering my dining room table. It really was plug and play. It instantly recognized it as 1601W and worked as an extended monitor. It’s lightweight, the cover for it works as a stand. The images are sharp. Well worth the money. The button I thought was a power button is actually the menu button for the monitor. I didn’t need to tweak any settings. It doesn’t have a speaker, but I didn’t need one. This suits my needs just fine,

  30. ATLGA

This may not be the biggest or best monitor, but this monitor works for me. (especially for the price). It comes with a protective sleeve. If you place the monitor landscape, it is virtually at the same height as your laptop so eye movement is almost even. I love the ease of mobility. I can put it in my laptop bag, pull it out and connect simultaneously with my laptop turning on. The embedded display link software automatically loaded on clients computer, which surprised me. In the initial setup I did have to turn the computer off and on 2 times, but after that I have not had any lags. I use the monitor for normal work – for switching between applications and documents. It is a huge help to extend my tiny laptop screen when I always need 2-4 screens up at once. One con I did find was on the older company laptop – the monitor did not automatically switch from portrait to landscape – I had to use the computer monitor settings to switch it . Portrait for word docs and landscape for Excel spreadsheets. I may buy a second one for use on the other side of my computer.

Muy util, no es muy pesada, apropiada para cagar

  32. J. Earle

This thing works really well on the road. Single monitor laptop stinks, this really helps. Resolution is low but better than nothing and the price works.

  33. Courtney Lathan

Great size, easy to set up and start using, would make a wonderful gift for someone too!

  34. SandraSandra

I needed a second monitor for work and this one does the job. When I first plugged it in, a display would show up and then the screen turned black. My laptop would not recognize the device and the driver for windows 10 kept saying it wasn’t compatible with my operating system. That part was frustrating so I took it to my brother who is a computer tech and he set it up for me. I also have to use both USB plugs in order to keep it powered, causing me to get a USB hub. Even with these minor issues, it’s still worth it for the price.

  35. Meezus

Day 1 with the AOC 16″ display and thus far, it is exactly what I was looking for. I’m writing an application which the customer needs to be able to see the items the employee is ringing-in to the sale. The AOC is potentially going to function as the customer-facing display and thus far, it fits the bill perfectly. If things go downhill or if the product quality changes, I’ll update this review. Thus far, the notable mentions are:- Very easy to install. The drivers are included on a CD (although, the initial setup wizard is a hokey Flash player project) and installed without issue. My USB 3.0 drivers had to be updated to better-handle the display, which the AOC setup automatically detected and took me straight to the update.- Windows automatically detected the display and automatically made it my second display.- It’s powered over USB — no extra wires needed.- It’s bright and without dead pixels or other screen issues.- It stands on its own with the built-in kickstand + has VESA mounts for proper mounting to a display stand.

I haven’t used this as much as I wanted to yet, but it works great on my windows 10 asus laptop. The displays and bezels on my laptop screen and this monitor are almost identical in color and style and it sits at the exact same height, which was a nice bonus. My co-worker saw it and needed to have one and said there is no way to adjust the brightness, which I found difficult to believe, but I didn’t feel the need to do that as of yet. It’s also very slim and fits right into my laptop bag without noticing it much. Not have needing a power supply for it is also a huge bonus, though I am imagining if your laptop is not plugged in, it probably takes a hefty told on your battery. Anyway, a solid monitor for a solid price. Not related to this product, but my same friend who bought it actually found a an ipad app that will let you use it as a second monitor for like 10 bucks. I have an ipad 2 that I never use anymore and might have went that route had I known (of course the screen would be much smaller, but if it’s just something you feel like you might not use all that often- as I mentioned I haven’t- it might be another option for you if you have a tablet handy). I still don’t regret the purchase, and once I move to a bigger desk at work, I am sure I’ll start using it more.

I love this screen. Being able to set in portrait mode is a huge help and with the built in stand, it’s a breeze! I was skeptical at how lightweight it was, but that’s a huge selling point for me when traveling and having it as an addition in my carry on. Even at home I still find myself using it in addition to my other screens. Worth the buy.

I purchased this monitor five years ago and I dropped it for the third time last week. It completely came apart (again) and yet snapped back together and worked perfectly (again) so I wanted to come here and leave a review and say how awesome I think it is!! Not that I would recommend dropping it and I don’t know if yours will put back together like mine did but when I put it back together last week and I continue to work flawlessly I thought holy cow I have to write a product review on this!!!!

  40. Raechel

I have had a total of 3 of these monitors and I couldn’t be happier with them. My first monitor broke when I dropped it while unpacking my suitcase. I love how light-weight the monitor is and I use it whenever I travel for work so that I’m still able to extend my desktop when I’m away from my office desk.My second monitor I actually gave away as a gift to my assistant so she could experience the joy of using dual monitors – she’s so happy now. When I received my third monitor I did have issues installing the software because unfortunately my computer CD drive no longer works. One word of caution – you can find the drivers online, but they won’t work if you plug the monitor in before you download them. Do not plug in the monitor until after you’ve downloaded all the necessary drivers!! Other than that issue the monitor works great and is so portable and lightweight a must have for anyone who travels.

I am using the AOC e1659Fwu 16-Inch USB-Powered Portable LCD Monitor (Latest Version) monitor with my ACER ASPIRE ONE 722-0427 net book which has an 11.6″ screen with a native resolution of 1366X768. This computer has three usb 2.0 ports. I loaded the drivers as recommended in the online manual (I recommend you download this manual from AOC before you make a purchase to familiarize yourself with the features and the download process). During the download and installation of the drivers pauses or apparent “final points” in the installation should not distract you. Just make a cup of tea and listen to a recorded book. I did not time it but I would guess the entire process took about 20 minutes so. Do not become anxious or impatient. Just sip tea for half an hour. When you reach a pause or or apparent end point in the process, wait a couple of minutes before taking action.Through a comprehensive menu I was easily able to set the screen up. I wanted to set my system to blank my net book screen and use the AOC monitor as my primary video output. This was quite easy. There are other options, which may be more suitable to your needs, but I have a small work area and consider myself a minimalist so I wanted the cpu off the desk and out of my way. Now I simply have the 15.6″ AOC monitor and a small wireless keyboard and mouse in front of me. For writing this is an absolutely perfect arrangement – No clutter, all workspace.Absolutely everything worked as advertised. One USB 2.0 port did the job. The drivers work perfectly. The image is great and plenty bright for a well-lighted room with an open window next to the desk. According to my research before purchasing the AOC e1659Fwu, some other similar monitors reportedly have less bright/clear screens or seem to have compatibility problems. Compatibility is a path you have to investigate before buying any monitor. My screen resolution was a perfect match. I cannot speak to other computer screen resolutions. Most, I imagine, will be fine. The protective sleeve provided is of high quality although I would have preferred it to close with a zipper or have an envelope-like folding cover for the end. The open end in this case is well-secured with a wide strap that has a Velcro closure…quite adequate but not impervious to spills, dust, fingers reaching into it, etc. It also lacks a carrying handle (most other sleeves lack this feature as well). The design of this monitor is very attractive and the “leg” that supports it is strong. When the leg is folded into its recessed cavity, the monitor makes a perfectly smooth surface to slip into the provided sleeve. As a precaution, I intend to cut a piece of foam board to fit the sleeve and cover it with soft fabric to protect the screen from damage from luggage mishandling and bumps in public places. The device is not fragile by any means, I simply want to protect my investment.Nothing is ever perfect. Few things operate as well as advertised. Some reviews may exaggerate. Many computer peripherals may require professional tweaking…..but not this one. Although I have only used it a short time and have not experimented beyond the things I wish this monitor to do for me, I have put it through its paces as best I can and it works perfectly in my minimalist configuration. Just check your configuration compatibility. That is always the buyer’s responsibility; beyond that, expect stellar performance.

The comments in the reviews about the cables and connections are all over the map and failing to mention model numbers. There are THREE different variations of this display, so reviewers need to be specific about what they bought. I bought the I1659FWUX, the 1080p model, in November 2022. This variation has a USB 3.0 type A port on the back. (This is not to be confused with the I1601FWUX model which has a USB C port.) The I1659FWUX comes with a cable that has male USB 3.0 type A on both ends, plus one end has a USB type A male pigtail for tapping into additional USB power if the primary connection doesn’t have enough. My primary monitor is also a USB 3.0 hub. I have the I1659FWUX connected to that hub, and it appears to be getting plenty of power that way. I’ve had some other devices not happy with the amount of power delivery through this hub, so my impression is that the I1659FWUX has somewhat low power demands. On Windows 11, I think your best bet is not to install any of the drivers or utility software for this monitor. As it turns out, Windows 11 can detect it and run it just fine with no 3rd party drivers or software. All of the display settings available in Windows 11 for displays work with this monitor. When first detected, Windows 11 wanted to apply 125% scaling to the display. I changed it back to 100% for native scaling. However, 125% was certainly easier on the eyes and I may consider going back to it.There’s not a lot to say. This thing just works. It is a fantastic size if you want to put a single app on a second monitor and get it off your main display. I’m primarily using it for Spotify (which I use throughout the workday) or for Teams or Zoom when I’m video conferences. I have the display connected to a desk clamp monitor arm using the vesa mount. It is above my primary display. The 1080p I1659FWUX model has an IPS display while the 1366×768 model is listed as having a lower quality TN panel. I can’t see any reason to go for the 1366×768 model these days. It’s not worth the $25 savings over the I1659FWUX. I’m not using this monitor for photo editing or anything color critical, so I haven’t bothered checking dynamic range or anything like that. Without any picky analysis, it is nice crisp, bright, colorful display. It doesn’t jump out at me as being much different in character from my primary IPS display (which IS calibrated). If you’ve got a use case for a second monitor of this size, you won’t be sorry. Having it work from a single USB cable with no other wires is fantastic.

The USB-C model is a wonderful monitor, and a godsend if you want to do actual work while away from your office. As long as your laptop supports DP Alt-mode over USB-C, it should truly be plug-and-play. Just one cable for both the video signal and the power. No weird drivers necessary – it’s just a DisplayPort monitor. And the magnetic cover/stand is a brilliant design – it sticks to the front of the monitor for transport, and to the back to use as a stand. It works for both portrait and landscape mode, and has a large adjustment range for tilt angle. I wish my tablet PCs came with a stand this useful. Please note, Amazon bunches similar products together and lists them as different versions of the same product. But the different versions here are very different. The USB-2 version requires drivers which seems to be the source of many problems (and the main reason the rating is as low as it is). This isn’t an issue with the USB-C version.

  44. EvanEvan

For the price and what it is I give it 5 stars.I read the reviews first and figured out that their was an issue with some computers getting this to work. S, first thing I did was go to the website and download the most recent drivers – then I plugged it in. No problems at all. Right clicked the desktop and did screen resolution settings to position the screen on the preferred side and that was it. I have it plugged into a USB 3.0 port, but I have also been able to get it working just fine on USB 2.0 on my laptop. The screen resolution and brightness is not the greatest, but it is a very portable solution for the on the go individual who needs extra screen space in the hotel. I have had no issue working with a little lower resolution and a little less brightness. It’s an acceptable tradeoff to me. One of my favorite features is the ability in your computers screen settings to make this monitor portrait to view whole pages. The built in stand is made for this option and is wonderful when I am reviewing lots of legal docs and entering data in a spreadsheet on my main laptop. If this is for your home then don’t even think about it – get a nice HP or Dell monitor, which are made for what you are doing. This is made for portability and does it very well.

I telecommute. I work for a giant multinational corporation that allows me to work from home or wherever. Yes, you should be a little jealous, because I don’t have to waste 2 hours on the road every day just to get to a stinky, crowded, loud office. But enough about me.This monitor is freeking awesome!!! It fits in my laptop backpack without adding any significant weight and only needs the one USB cord to power and display the image. This worked out of the box for me and I was up and running faster than I was able to get all the packaging put away. Quality is good.As others have said, this is so inexpensive, there is very little worry about it getting stolen or broken. Just buy a new one!I’ll update in the months to come if this monitor fails on me. If not, assume I am one happy traveling techy! 🙂

I’ve been using this monitor for over 1.5 yrs as my second screen. I’ve been traveling constantly since I received it with no issues. The sleeve it comes in works fine to travel with, you just can’t put anything super heavy on top of the screen, but that’s just common sense. I probably use it about 15 to 20 hours a week and it still works just like it did when I first received it. This is the same portable monitor my former accounting office would use and I used the same one there for 3 years without issue. I did have a coworker go through about 3 or 4 of these in the same time period though, but he wasn’t careful.Bottom line, this is a good portable monitor and if you’re good at taking care of your belongings, then you shouldn’t have issues. If you break stuff all of the time, then this isn’t the right monitor for you because you will break it.

Bought this as a 3rd monitor for my workstation. The quality of picture was excellent. Price was more than fair. Loved the USB 3 connectivity (no extra power source/adaptor needed). Portrait or landscape mode.I really hesitated-because I liked it so much, but needed to return monitor because it was slightly too large for my workspace. I even considered switching desks around to make this work-it would’ve been worth it!

  50. D_guy

Used a trimmed down clipboard back (after removing the clip part from an 11×17 size clipboard) to place fully over the monitor (i.e. covering plastic border surrounding the screen) before placing into the soft case. Have never had a problem with screen cracking or getting marred, scratched, etc. while packing or storing. Regarding any reviews of the 16″ or 17″ models where the cable shifts or barely moves and affects the connection in the back, I used a couple of the adhesive-backed Cable Clip Organizers (search Amazon “cable clips”) to line up the cord and make sure it stays straight once plugged into the backside connector and it has yet to give me problems there. However, I do have a persnickety Dell Inspiron model laptop (of which I will never get another one). I use this laptop frequently with the USB monitor and I have found that I will have to plug, unplug, and replug a time or two for the laptop to properly sense the monitor and stay connected allowing the monitor to boot up and stay connected. Once that is achieved I have no problems from there on.

I am very impressed with this AOC I1659FWUX (which is the “Full HD USB 3.0” model). I purchased this USB-powered portable monitor so that I could have a secondary monitor for my laptop while traveling. It’s nice to have a secondary monitor for work, and this thing fits the bill perfectly. Extremely light, extremely easy to use (install driver, reboot, then simply plug and play), and it only requires a single USB connection from my Dell Latitude E5550 laptop for both display and power. I was not expecting a lot (just the ability to have web pages, email, etc on it), but it has exceeded my expectations. The picture quality is good, the brightness is good, and the response time is surprisingly good. I wasn’t planning on using it to display a lot of video, but I tested some YouTube videos on it and they were absolutely fine. Time will tell how long it will last, but my initial experience with it is fantastic.

  52. Samuel

Absolutely fantastic monitor for remote work on the go. I was surprised how big and nice quality build it is. Highly recommend for the price and value.

  53. valeria

It is easy to use. You just plug the cable to the computer so no power cord required which is nice. The cover is easy to remove and I like that it is magnetic so you just place it over the screen and it won’t fall off. The design is thin so it is easy to store in your work bag. Overall I am satisfied for the price.

  54. Don’t believe the hype

I take this on the road with me when I trade with a laptop, otherwise I have them connected to my desktop as additional screens as a trader

I got this for my Windows 7 bootcamp MacBook Air 13″ 2012. The good this about this is that it uses USB port instead of hdmi or vga. The size is similar to my 13″ screen. But because it’s black, it doesn’t match my macbook color (silver). If you have a black laptop, it’ll match. Well, most monitors are black anyway, never seen a silver case monitor.Anyway, it doesn’t have any problem with the response time. Everything seems to respond really fast with no problem. I was watching harry potter 7 part 2, and I see no problem at all. I can also move around without any problem at all.Now the cons:- glossy screen. I see a lot of reflection from my window. No biggie. I can move it so I don’t see reflections.- small resolution. My macbook air is 1440 x 900, while the monitor is only 1366 x 768. Yes yes, it says so in the description. It’s no biggie either.- the screen is a little dark. I wish I can change the brightness. This is my main problem.Otherwise, I think this product is great. I’m not getting a desktop anytime soon, so it’s okay. I kind of want to know the difference between the previous version and this new version. USB 3.0 vs USB 2.0, is there really much difference? If anyone knows, please reply to this preview. Thanks.edit:I tried using usb 3.0 hub. Don’t buy it with an intention to use it with a hub. it won’t work very nice, not at all actually if you have another usb storage connected to the hub. Also apparently there is a setting for brightness and contrast. If you can’t find it, look at the tray icons at buttom right corner of your desktop (Windows 7). Overall I’m happy with this purchase.Highly recommended if you use a laptop and move around a lot.

A terrific monitor. Came packaged well and quicker than stated. Easy-easy to set up. Windows 7, insert set-up disc, follow instructions and you’re up and running, 3-4 minutes. Its not the absolute best picture quality but for Charts it more than good enough. I believe there are different versions of this monitor that offers finer picture resolution. Monitor stands Portrait and Landscape. Monitor seems to be friendly with battery power from laptop. Only noticed a 20 minute reduction in 2 hours of use on a 6 year old battery. Comes with an open ended case (with a Velcro strap to hold in the monitor) ultimately this case is most insufficient to offer much protection if the screen is packed into a suitcase or a backpack. I purchased an additional case from Amazon (a 15.6″ Arvik laptop case) to use in addition to the original case. AND if you want to further protect the screen add a fitted piece of HPDL (Formica) in-between the two cases on the screen side. Adding the second case and additional protection also provides the room to house the cable; which is not storable in the original AOC case. Having read the reviews and problems some have had, I purchased the Extended Warranty for a few pennies extra.

This has been a great second portable display. It’s as good as any standard 1920×1080 desktop display. It’s extremely light and fits in my computer bag nicely right along side my laptop. I have a 4K laptop so you have to understand when using along side one of those that your resolution won’t look at clear. It’s really slick though with zero setup; just plug and play!UPDATE: Nearly 2 years later and this monitor is still awesome. It works the same today as it did 2 years ago and I use it every work day (5 days a week) all day long. Even the magnets and cover still operate the same as it did 2 years ago. I’ve been using this on my Dell 15 Precision but have also used it on a macbook when I needed to use it on occasion. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great, inexpensive 15″ portable monitor. It’s light and thin enough I don’t even notice the difference while carrying2 it in my computer bag.

Fits perfect in my bag with all the other junk & makes computer work much easier with this second screen.

I am using the AOC e1659Fwu 16-Inch USB-Powered Portable LCD Monitor (Latest Version) monitor with my ACER ASPIRE ONE 722-0427 net book which has an 11.6″ screen with a native resolution of 1366X768. Initial impression is a very nice monitor. I’m happy with it so far.One issue with it is that there is only one button that is the On/Off button and Mode button. It is possible to control brightness and contrast as well as a Low Blue mode. What I like most about this monitor is that there is only one USB-C cable for power and video. This means I don’t have to search for another power outlet to plug my monitor into. Also, the thin form factor makes this monitor very easy to transport. I noticed that this monitor is within a hair of the same length as my laptop but it isn’t quite as wide. So I just stack the monitor on top of my laptop when I pack it into my laptop pack.I’m writing this review after just a few hours of use. These are my initial impressions that I hope will continue to be lasting impressions. If I encounter any issues I will update this review at that time.

Great monitor that I got to work with my Macbook Pro 2017 (4 USB-C ports). Everyone at work loves it, but there are a few features that would make me switch to something else if I could find them.Pros-Love ability to rotate in landscape or portrait mode on my Macbook Pro 2017 (no software required)-Portrait mode allows me to keep more in my field of vision than my old ASUS monitor (landscape only)-Needed only to download Displaylink drivers to work with a Macbook Pro 2017-Magnetic cover/stand is awesome – allows you adjust the position of the screen through an infinite number of viewing angles (my old ASUS case allowed only two viewing angles)-Love being able to turn the monitor easily towards someone or hold it up to let someone see a presentationCons-You can change the color output with the mac display settings, but I cannot find a way to manually adjust the brightness-Included cord is a bit stiff and long-For portrait mode, would love to have a USB-C cord with a 90 degree angle plug but having a hard time finding one of those with two USB-C ends-The connections are a bit finicky… I often get a “No Signal” message when I connect and have to unplug and replug or reverse the orientation of the cord to get it to connect-I can get a triple display with my Macbook Pro 2017, AOC and 27″ apple monitor, but I cannot get the AOC to work when my macbook pro is connected to a Dell monitor at work.

The 16″ , 1366 x 768 USB monitor (AOC e1659Fwu) has been great for years now. It is thin, included a neoprene sleeve cover and the stand works well. I HIGHLY recommend these monitors as when I go to site for service or travel for work, I have a second screen to allow active work on one screen, a procedure, email or remote screen on the other…. whatever. This monitor has lower resolution, so I have to shrink some things to fit or move them around. Windows allows reduction on this extended screen too. The AOC monitor displays pictures, text and movies perfectly. So, I purchased the AOC I1659FWUX 15.6″, 1920 x 1080 HD USB monitor to replace it (I use the original on my personal laptop now) and fit more on the screen though slightly smaller physically. My laptop is 15.6″ and both fit in the laptop bag side by side. I never travel for work without the monitor with me. This model has a USB A to USB A 3.0 cable and is not as delicate as the one I described above, though I am adding my hooks to protect it anyway. It works well with a USB A to USB C adapter. Great picture with HD resolution. The negatives.* The neoprene sleeve, though soft, provides NO protection from impact to the screen in transport. Many complaints about that. I use the original cardboard sheet sized the same as the monitor from the original box over the screen in the sleeve. I am creating something a little better abrasion free.I use this in hotels and in computer rooms, so it does get moved around a lot, pulled out and put away.* The USB cable. You can use USB C or USB A (USB 3.0) for laptop/PC end. The included cable is stiff and I replaced it with more flexible and shorter (2ft) fabric sleeved cables to carry (USB A and USB C ends for laptop). Amazon has tons of options here. I posted a pic of the micro USB male charging cable used for the monitor interface on the 16″ model. The 15.6″ model uses a standard USB A male connecter at the back.* The connector on the monitor. Everyone’s biggest complaint as there is no protection from pulling the cable out sideways and damaging the interface connector. I posted pics of a simple solution I created using small 3M Command stick-on hooks. I can weave the cable around the three hooks, then slide it into the connector. Removes ALL of the stress from side movement and saves the monitor from the recycler or trash. Easy to remove. Allows movement without worry. Anything like a velcro strap or a clip fastened to the back to prevent pulling out will work. The negatives are easy and inexpensive to fix to prevent damage.Do NOT let these issues prevent considering the purchase of these monitors. The cardboard comes with the package, the 3M hooks cheap and the flexible, shorter cable, under $8 from Amazon and years of trouble-free use. An excellent option with AOC reliability.I gave 4 stars instead of 5 ONLY for having to do things to prevent damage that should have been considered in the design and testing of these really great monitors.11/7/22. I had to update to 5 stars as I just can’t get around using either of the monitors and have been undeniably reliable despite the negatives. Take the precautions I outlined and a long useful life is expected. I have one for each personal and work use and don’t go anywhere without them. Recommended to friends who have purchased too. The newest one in HD has been OUTSTANDING.

I tried several monitors before this one, and this is by far the best.1. Asus HD Portable USB-Powered Monitor with USB 3.0 (MB168B)This one was a fine monitor. Well built and sturdy. However, it had severe flaws. The first is that it didn’t have an attached stand, you had to use the case, which took up a large portion of my desk. Second, it had high power consumption, making it unusable on my work laptop unless I carried a usb powered hub with me everywhere as well (which to me, makes having a portable monitor worthless)2. AOC E1649FWU (the model before this one)Seemed like a good monitor at first – super cheap ($90!) and decently built. Built out of plastic and kind of bulky for everyday transport though. The major flaw with this one was that the screen would flicker and disconnect/reconnect every 10 minutes or so, making me have to reset my windows. This made it more frustrating then useful, and I finally returned it after a few weeks.3. This model – the AOC e1659FwuExcellent construction. -It comes with a tight fitting sleeve so it fits into my backpack along with my laptop without issue. -No flickering -No excess power consumption. Works with my rather low end work laptop without any issue -Sleek design, so it doesn’t take up much of my desk -No lag for working on normal document processing. I haven’t tried it with games, but I can’t notice any delay in doing normal document workOnly problem I had with it was some static appearance on white backgrounds. However, this was easily fixed by increasing the contrast. Now it works better than the screen attached to my laptop. I highly recommend it.

Gave it 5/5 with the low price in mind.It works really well for what you pay for. If you are looking for a simple, cheap, portable monitor just to have an extra screen for spreadsheets or office work, this one is fantastic and I’d highly recommend it. The neoprene case is great and even in the case it doesn’t take up much room and fits right into my backpack. On top of that it is light and works off USB 3, so no need to carry around extra vga’s or power adapters. It is easy to set-up and works automatically (on Windows 10 at least) once drivers are installed. The icing on the cake is that there is no visible lag when using it.The only main downside is that the colors are a bit washed out and there are no adjustable display settings. If you plan to use your portable monitor for art or media you’d be better off spending more on a higher end one IMO. As this product seemed to be squarely on the lower end of the price spectrum, and I bought it purely with office work in mind where colors don’t matter so much, I did not dock any points for it.

It is easy to use. You just plug the cable to the computer so no power cord required which is nice. The cover is easy to remove and I like that it is magnetic so you just place it over the screen and it won’t fall off. The design is thin so it is easy to store in your work bag. Overall I am satisfied for the price.

I recently received this product as a birthday gift and I am very impressed with the monitor so far. It is light-weight and easy to swap between computers, the display is sharp for my needs, colors are crisp and bright. I primarily use the monitor as a second screen for my all-in-one desktop PC (HP Pavilion 23 – AMD A6) and my older laptop (Toshiba Portege – Intel Core i3). I chose this monitor because while my laptop has an HDMI out capability my desktop lacks that option and as a computer programmer I find it very useful and productive to have a dual-monitor setup. Since this monitor operates over USB 3.0 it was the only solution that would accommodate both computers without the need for extra equipment/dongles.I would certainly recommend this product for anyone in a similar situation to myself. It makes a great second monitor and is portable enough to be switched between computers on a daily basis. The lack of an external power supply is also an added bonus. Switching between computers is as simple as unplugging the USB cord and plugging it into the next computer.I have primarily used the monitor for websites, but is has handled video and simple games with aplomb. I can’t imagine watching a long movie or trying to play a demanding video game on it, but that was never it’s intended purpose.

I was struggling for about an hour trying to get it to work with my 2020 mac running big sur. After downloading drivers and what not it wasnt working. BUT…..FOR SOME REASON IT STARTED WORKING WHEN I USED THE USB – C CABLE IT CAME WITH. I was trying to set it up with a cable i already had and the monitor was not recognized. So i guess just make sure you use the cable it comes with.

This thing works really well on the road. Single monitor laptop stinks, this really helps. Resolution is low but better than nothing and the price works.

I first saw this product in use by a coworker, who was using a Win10 laptop. I read the details of the device and was mildly interested, but felt that I would not be able to use it with my MacBook Pro 2012.When I received the product I noted that one concern, “power” was addressed with the “Y” USB cable, which was able to tap into two USB sources of power, if needed. (This is specifically defined for use with “older” hardware>)I Googled AOC displays and discovered their DisplayLink driver software available for the Mac. After downloading and installing that driver and plugging in the main USB (Data and Power) as opposed to the Auxiliary USB (Power only), I found that the display immediately mirrored the image on my bulit-in display.Following their simple instructions, I was able to quickly set the AOC display to Extend my desktop and position it so that the mouse travel direction was correct. This was MUCH easier to do than the process required on Windows.I tend to be on the road with my MacBook Pro several weeks out of every month and find that this will be a superb solution for my open Desktop windows needs!

I wanted to write a review since I was concerned over the reviews I had seen here prior to my purchase. I think most of these reviews may have been for the previous model. I say this because I just received mine and I am very impressed. The monitor is very thin, lightweight, and well-made (and looks very nice). The cover/stand is fully adjustable and sturdy. It attaches to the monitor via magnets, which you can slide up and down to adjust the angle of the screen. I read some reviews that said it was flimsy and I completely disagree. It has no problem holding up the screen at an angle and looks very sleek. It also serves as a cover for the screen when you store it away. This monitor is very compact and can easily fit with my laptop in my computer bag. Note the new model uses a USB-C connection, which works seamlessly with my Dell XPS laptop. It’s just one cable and worked out of the box. My only negative comment is that the picture color is not exactly the same as my laptop and I do not know if it is possible to adjust the picture color. It lets you adjust for brightness/contrast and a couple of other items but that’s it. However, I’m using the monitor mainly for work, spreadsheets, emails, etc. so the slight difference in colors does not affect me. Overall, the monitor exceeded my expectations and I am very happy with my purchase.

Good size screen for working when traveling

I have had this model Velcro mounted on the dashboard of my semi truck for 6 years now. It’s a beast and still works perfectly. I use it for everything from navigating with Google Earth to playing movies in the bunk during breaks. The ONLY reason I bought another is after years of heavy abuse I started to wonder if or when it will finally break so I wanted a second one as a spare. This refurbished model is perfect. No evidence it was ever used by anyone and no dead pixels at all in the screen. Also the way they packed it is great. I think the deliveryman could have thrown this across the yard and it wouldn’t be damaged. I originally disliked these because of the auto rotating screen but I found that if you don’t install the software and use the normal Windows drivers you won’t have to worry about the rotation.NOTE: The screen is glossy so if you plan to use this in a vehicle, I recommend getting a matte screen protector and also a privacy screen protector for night time use. It really cuts down on the glare at night. Also important to note that in Windows 10 (on my laptop) I couldn’t find a way to dim the screen without using the AOC software but that comes with the auto rotate feature I dislike. So instead I use a free program called “Screen Bright” and that has worked great.

This is a lifesaver if you do alot of work with multiple documents, or applications at one time. It is a single USB-C cable to connect it and it works. It is slim and the stand doubles as a cover to protect the screen. It fits in my laptop backpack because it is slim and very portable. I won’t travel anywhere without it. I have only had it for about a month but it is working very well for me.

I was tried of lugging an old DELL 15″ flat screen monitor from my dining room table to kitchen counter to basement office, so I finally upgraded and did a lot of research to find a good, if not great, portable screen/monitor.I compared about 4 different brands, sizes and models and kept coming back to the AOC! I had seen one person using a portable screen about 2 years ago in a Starbucks and asked them the brand name, it was AOC. So I ended up buying this screen and loving it so far. This screen is great. It’s lightweight, love the protective cover that converts to a stand for both landscape and portrait screen setup. The stand/cover is magnetic and therefore can be adjusted (but not all that much) in terms of angle of screen. The only thing I wish this screen had was the USB-C charge port on both sides which would make placing the laptop and screen a little easier for different situations.all in all, this is an awesome buy!!! highly recommend. Have had it for about a month now and it’s great.

Great value for the price. Plug and play… works like suppose to!

In my home office, I have two external monitors connected to my laptop. The workflow in my business is much easier on my eyes and brain with three screens to view multiple documents, browser, eBook contents, and email from clients. And I want to mention the only way I was able to set up TWO external monitors with my laptop is because of a previous purchase – an external video card made by IOGear. Highly recommended if your system cannot support two external monitors.Recently, I purchased this portable monitor in advance of a business trip – to be delivered at my client’s office. Delivered on time, the monitor was so easy to install that I didn’t even have to refer to the instructions.. just plug and play. (If you want to use the monitor in portrait mode, you do need to install the software, but I haven’t needed it or tried it yet.).The monitor is light and comes with a protective sleeve. I didn’t realize that at the time of ordering and almost purchased one. You can easily carry the monitor with a laptop in a backpack as I do when traveling. When at my client’s, I demonstrated how very easy it was to use – my colleagues were impressed!Next time that I travel, I plan to purchase another so that I have three monitors for work.

I looked at a bunch of these for my Surface Laptop 2. Plugged in directly to USB 3.0 port and went to displays to detect and it worked. Didn’t automatically detect. Thought I needed a Surface Hub but I did not. Also plugged into MacBook Pro 2019 with a thunderbolt to USB adapter and it didn’t work. Had to go through Q&A on product and someone else had a similar problem. You can’t just download DisplayLink, you have to open the Display Link Manager and it’ll ask if you will allow privacy and you click ok then restart then open DisplayLink Manager again and it holds the connection when you plug and unplug the display. It’s worth the extra troubleshooting because the little 13 inch monitor on both MacBook and Surface really do need extended monitors.
